Information for passengers traveling to the US |
|
As from January 12, 2009, the US authorities require passengers eligible to travel under the Visa Waiver Program (see above table) to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) online before departure. In most cases the application is handled immediately, and you will receive an instant answer online. It is the responsibility of the passenger to secure that an ESTA has been approved prior to departure. The US authorities recommend that an application is done at the latest 72 hours before departure. An approved ESTA will be valid 2 years and allows for multiple visits to the USA. In connection with check-in, the airline will check that a passenger has an approved ESTA. During an interim period, the US authorities require an ESTA approval and that the green card (I-94W) is filled in prior to entering the US. The green card is handed out at check-in and/or onboard the aircraft. Note! If you have a B1 or B2 visa, you do not need to apply for an ESTA. |

Inaugural new service to Maui on Alaska Airlines- Year-round daily flights between Seattle and Kahului on the island of Maui are scheduled to begin July 17.
- Seasonal flights between Anchorage and Kahului will operate twice a week from October 31, 2008, to April 25, 2009.
Bring on the sun, surf, and scenery, where superb doesn't capture it and its serenity fills the air. Maui's sunny western coast is dotted with those classic Hawaiian white-sand beaches, and should you come in winter, the waters are dotted with humpback whales. But why stop there? With Hawaii's second largest island you get the flora, the fauna, the nightlife, and endless beach frolic. Go jungle and waterfall hunting, surf or windsurf with the best of 'em, or poke about volcanoes. (Maui is known as the 'Valley Island' due to two large, extinct volcanoes—divided by a lush valley.) Make sure, while you're there, to take the once-in-a-lifetime day trip along Maui's most scenic highway, Hana, and twist and wend your way around the jaw-dropping 52-mile mountain drive. Wander through historic streets and take in a traditional seaside luau at Old Lahaina Town. Catch the sunrise like you've never witnessed from atop a 10,000-foot volcano, dance under waterfalls, stomp through craters at Haleakala National Park, and catch a catamaran to snorkel at Molokoni Island. And of course, Maui has all the picture-perfect standbys: golf, dining, museums, and mai tais on the beach. The Valley Isle is perfect for bringing on the romance, luxuriating in nature, or pushing the adrenaline button. Check out what this Island has to offer you! |
